Ready to retire? Consider Retire Ready advice

Who better to tell us more about ANZ Staff Super’s Retire Ready advice than a member who has recently received it?

Mirjana Williams left ANZ from her position as Senior Credit Risk Manager, Wholesale Commercial Banking, earlier this year after 20 years with the bank.

Before taking time out to travel and read and spend more time with family Mirjana spoke with one of the financial advisers who support ANZ Staff Super and received Retire Ready financial advice.

This comprehensive retirement advice package provides support for members whose needs extend beyond the scope of intrafund advice, including partner or spouse modelling and Age Pension considerations. As a more personalised and holistic service, Retire Ready advice has an out-of-pocket cost of $1,200 for individuals and $1,400 for couples.

A key benefit of the service is the implementation support that accompanies the advice. Members not only receive recommendations tailored to their circumstances, but also practical guidance on the next steps required to put those recommendations into action. Because setting up retirement arrangements can often feel complex and time-consuming, the service helps members navigate the process and get the right structures in place with greater confidence and ease.

“Was it worth it?” was the first question we asked Mirjana.

"Yes, it was worth the cost. Retire Ready provided advice and recommendations on which investment option is right for my ANZ Staff Super accounts. This was based on analysis of my financial circumstances, needs and objectives, risk profile and risk tolerance, which was discussed in detail prior to the Statement of Advice. The advice is limited to the above, but if I was to engage a financial adviser the fee would be much higher.

It's important to get it right

"I would recommend Retire Ready advice to ANZ Staff Super members seriously thinking about retirement. The investment options you choose are important and will help build your retirement savings, so it is important to get it right."

Another advantage of Retire Ready advice is help with the paperwork and opportunity for follow up – Mirjana says: "My financial adviser completed parts of the "Application for Membership (Retirement Section)" which was helpful. I also had some further questions after our meeting and my adviser was very helpful in answering these."

Although Mirjana received her Retire Ready advice over the phone – for members who prefer face-to-face advice – this can be arranged.
