Review your insurance cover

Insurance cover may help provide you with peace of mind should the unexpected happen. Insurance through super is offered at group rates, which are generally cheaper than insuring yourself individually. ANZ Staff Super offers flexible and competitively priced insurance with a 45% rebate on death and Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) premiums for most members.

Types of insurance cover

  • Death cover - provides a benefit in the event of your death or if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness.
  • TPD cover - provides you with a benefit if you’re unable to work again because of illness or injury.
  • Salary continuance cover (Employee Sections only) - provides you with a temporary income if you need extended time off work because of illness or injury.

Cost of cover

ANZ Staff Super offers death and TPD insurance cover to Employee Sections, Partner Section and Personal Section members, and a 45% rebate currently applies. The cost of cover (premiums) is conveniently deducted from your account each month and will vary depending on your age and the level of cover you have. Your account balance must be sufficient to meet your premiums to maintain cover. You may also need to meet other requirements to maintain your cover. See the ‘Insurance in your super’ section of your relevant In Detail Booklet for details of insurance premiums and terms and conditions applying to your cover (Employee Section C members - please call 1800 000 086 to obtain information about your premiums).

How to review, change or cancel your cover

Changes in our lives and the lives of  those we care about means our insurance cover may no longer meet our needs. The cost of cover also rises as you get older so you may like to review how much cover you have to make sure you’re not paying for cover you no longer need.

You can apply to change or cancel your cover at any time. Log in to your ANZ Staff Super account to see your current insurance cover and premiums. If you decide you need more or less insurance, you can apply to change your cover by completing the relevant form (Employee Section C members - please call 1800 000 086 to change cover).

Applications for increased cover are subject to acceptance by the Insurer and you may be required to provide satisfactory health evidence. You can also cancel your cover at any time by calling
